1:30 – 2:30 PM        Speed up your EBS: Simple and effective performance tuning using Excel

Discuss best practices for analyzing performance issues in a live Oracle E-Business Suite environment. The results are delivered using Excel pivot tables, providing quicker insights and results than is possible with SQL scripts or Oracle's standard tools, Enterprise Manager and AWR HTML reports. Shows DBAs, non DBAs and DevOps and end users how to quickly identify the top performance issues of an Oracle EBS system and their corresponding user processes such as background concurrent processes, forms, business events or workflows.

  1. Review overall system status (check for configuration issues or IO bottlenecks)
  2. Identify worst performing SQLs and their business purpose
  3. Examine these SQLs and apply necessary corrections
  4. User level identification and correction of Blocked session situations.

2:30 – 3:00 PM        Break & Networking

3:00 – 4:00 PM        Enterprise Control Center

Oracle has recently announced it is including the "Enterprise Control Center" (ECC) free of charge with the 12.2 upgrade. ECC is a completely integrated dash-boarding system with 19 different dashboards currently available. ECC is linked to EBS data, and designed to help users zero in on day to day decision making data from every EBS module. This presentation will demonstrate how to navigate several of the ECC dashboards, using live data, (not PowerPoint!)  The goal is to help users understand when and how to use the ECC dashboards, and to also help them assess the value of adding this to their current reporting and analytics tools.
